Fast Casual Health Food Restaurant Inspired by the Hawaiian Cuisine

To these sisters, the Hawaiian way meant more than just the way the locals lived. It meant living better. It meant eating wholesome, fresh, nutritious food. It meant living an active yet relaxed lifestyle. It meant treating one’s body and the world that nourishes it with respect and gratitude. It was an inspiration to their being and one they wanted to share with the world.

Embracing the Hawaiian Way

Even after Kiersten and Krista Gormeley returned to their home state of New Jersey from Hawaii, there was no doubt that they were changed forever. Their new way of life on the Big Island set them on a mission to find ways to bring this new lifestyle home. To them that meant making foods with wholesome, clean, and simple ingredients fun to eat. It also meant living a more meaningful, wholesome life through both movement and simply better eating.

Living the Hawaiian way also encouraged them to adopt the ideals that would eventually become the core values of Shaka Bowl: choosing transparency, wholesomeness, honesty, trustworthiness, family, and reliability above all.
